Hi it’s me, Jodi Olïne
I found my passion for design as a small child. My mom had a red wooden rocking chair when she was a girl, and it found its way in to my childhood bedroom. I loved that chair and was so proud to display it! I would draw my bedroom layout, cut out shapes of my furniture and carefully place them on my floor plan. At seven years old, I began exploring new and innovative designs for my spaces. I thought everyone did that, because it is just who I have always been.
I have almost ten years working in real estate, including owning a real estate and property management firm. During that time I have also taken my own advice, renovating and flipping 8 houses so far, and operating a few short term rental homes. I was a full time kitchen designer before moving on to an In-home Designer for La-Z-Boy Vancouver for two more years. Those positions allowed me to travel and collaborate on multiple homes, creating countless comfort zones for my clients. The fulfilment I get from helping clients realize their ideal spaces, and my love of design led me to create my own design business which I have operated since 2013.
Given my Metis - Norwegian background, I am personally drawn to an earthy transitional Scandinavian style, a blend of contemporary pieces mixed with organic, rustic materials. I am always invested in my client’s style and ideas and work to create their vision as if it were my own. More important than personal style is the feeling. Have you ever entered a room and immediately felt: cozy, comfortable or at ease? The furniture, décor and items in the room all contribute to that relaxed feeling. That’s what I do. I help you build - literally – your comfort zone! There is nothing more important than feeling at peace in your own space.
Your environment deeply effects how you feel on an emotional and energy level, which is why I have such a love for design. I love creating spaces that help people have that cozy, Hygge feeling!
